Wedding season runs June through October. Sweet Amanda Leigh accepts wedding cake bookings a minimum of 6–8 weeks in advance — we recommend reaching out early to secure your date.

When should I place my order?

To guarantee your date we recommend you place your order at least 6 – 8 weeks in advance. Always call for last minute availability, we will do everything we can to accommodate your request.

To reserve the date, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required, which is then applied to your order. A date is not reserved until a contract has been signed and the deposit has been paid. Life happens and sometimes an order needs to be canceled or rescheduled. We will try our best to accommodate rescheduling requests but this is entirely dependent on Sweet Amanda Leigh’s availability. Cancellations 2 weeks before your event, you will receive 75% of your total order back. Cancellations 1 week before your event, you will receive 50% of your total order back. Cancellations less than a week before you will receive 25% of your order back. There are no refunds for cancellations 1 day before or day of your event.

This is a great question whose answer depends on a number of factors/questions you need to ask yourself. Questions such as, will other desserts being served at your event, how large are your cake slices, will cake be served to each guest regardless (ex. a wedding, seated fund raisers), etc. If the cake is the main dessert, then you want to order enough cake to serve 100% of guests plus a little extra for any last-minute attendees. For events where other desserts are being served, a cake that covers 75% of your guests is great, as some people may prefer to indulge in other sweets. If you are ordering sweets for a dessert table, a great rule of thumb is to figure 3 to 4 pieces per person.

Yes. Sweet Amanda Leigh delivers within a three-hour drive from Astoria, NY. Delivery starts at $60. Delivery charges are based on your event location, tolls, gas, and labor.

Each cake is unique and customized for your specific event. Therefore it is difficult to give a fixed price as you would see in bakeries. Cakes are priced according to several different criteria, such as complexity of design, number of servings, sculpting vs non sculpted, hand painting vs edible printing, piping work, hand crafted edible flowers vs real flowers, 3D elements, internal structure, etc. With artistry in mind, the starting point for custom and wedding cakes start at $350. Sculpted/free form cakes start at $500.

Absolutely! Dessert tables are a fabulous way to give your guests a curated selection of desserts. Sweet Amanda Leigh can help you with everything from designing your table, sourcing display pieces, sketching a layout, setting up the table on the day of your event, or simply supplying you with delicious cakes, cookies, and other fabulous treats.
